Data sources & licence status

StauJetzt follows a fail-closed approach: a source is used in production only when its status is sufficiently documented. Unclear or not-yet-approved sources remain disabled.

APPROVED: Autobahn GmbH / GovData

Used for: traffic reports, roadworks, closures, truck parking and EV charging stations.
Technical access: verkehr.autobahn.de.
Licence basis: the GovData entry “Die Autobahn App” is listed for free use under the German Federal Geodata Usage Ordinance (GeoNutzV). Section 2 permits commercial and non-commercial use and inclusion in products and applications, subject to special rules and third-party rights.

APPROVED: Hamburg traffic-camera locations

Used for: approved camera locations on A1, A7, A255 and in Hamburg city.
Technical access: OGC API / WFS from the Hamburg Urban Data Platform.
Licence: Data Licence Germany – Attribution 2.0 (DL-DE-BY 2.0). Hamburg’s transport authority confirmed to StauJetzt on 21 September 2026 that camera images are currently unavailable for legal reasons and that no date for their return is known. StauJetzt therefore shows only the approved location data and official dataset links, never guessed or scraped image URLs.

Attribution: Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Authority for Transport and Mobility Transition.

BLOCKED: other camera sources without documented approval

Motorway or regional camera endpoints are not included merely because they are technically public. Sources with possible third-party rights or unclear commercial terms remain disabled until their specific use is documented and approved.

BLOCKED: BayernInfo camera images

BayernInfo confirmed to StauJetzt on 21 September 2026 that webcam images from Bavarian motorway sections may not be published under current federal instructions and that redistribution to commercial services is therefore also excluded. StauJetzt does not embed BayernInfo camera images.

Additional BASt, Mobilithek, state or third-party sources are enabled only after documented review of licence, commercial use, attribution, redistribution, caching and possible third-party rights.
