Methodology

StauJetzt is designed as a pre-trip check: quickly see what is reported on a motorway or a specific corridor.

Classification

Closures and roadworks follow the source’s separate services. General warnings are labelled as a “jam” only when their title, subtitle or description contains clear congestion wording such as jam, stop-and-go, slow or stationary traffic. Otherwise they remain a general notice.

Current vs planned

Standard views show current events. “Planned roadworks” shows only events marked as future work starting within the next seven days.

Corridors

Corridor views such as Munich–Stuttgart filter events using available coordinates and a transparently defined geographic area. Reports without a usable position are not forced into a corridor.

Refresh & cache

The browser refreshes the selected view regularly. The Worker caches live responses briefly to reduce load on the source while keeping results current.

Trend

The trend compares refreshes only during the current page visit and is not stored permanently in the browser.

Favourites

Only after you explicitly choose “Save” or “Add” is your motorway selection stored locally in the browser. There is no user account and favourites are not sent to StauJetzt.

Limits

Event data is not measured speed data. Without a suitable live-flow dataset, StauJetzt does not calculate delay minutes or arrival times.
